Callejo

Ribera del Duero, Spain

The concept of “terroir” refers to the interaction of various factors which contribute to the character of the wine: the climate, soil, grape variety and actions of the individual vine grower. In order to produce wines that express their terroir, the vineyard’s soil characteristics must be carefully respected, and only with an organic approach can maximum expression of terroir be achieved.

Vizar

Penalba, Spain

Bodegas Vizar is amongst the most unique wineries in world. Situated on the banks of the Duero River in Castilla y Leon, this winery sits right outside the Ribera del Duero DO. Quality is first here, with everything being hand harvest, hand selected, and organically farmed. Fermentation is allowed to happen naturally and spontaneously with the native, wild yeast. The Zarzuela family owns this estate, with Felipe Zarzuela currently at the helm of the winery.
