Vigna Traverso is located in Prepotto, near Udine, a few kilometres from the Slovenian border, in the Friuli Colli Orientali area, very important for its terroir and a perfect microclimate to produce white and red wines. The microclimate is ideal for the vine: Spring and Summer are sunny and mild with an average temperature of 28°C. The temperature range promotes the development of the grapes and allows them to ripen in sugar content and flavor components. The soil is rich in clay and is covered with vegetation that brings organic material. In the selection of the varietals, Luiz Barichello decided to follow the tradition with the valued Sangiovese and the modern influences with international varieties, Merlot and Cabernet.

This passion for the art of wine-making goes back to Carlo Campagnola, who was involved at an early age in the wine trade, followed by his wife Caterina Zardini who, after the untimely death of her husband, courageously continued the business and in 1907 won the medal for the best "Vino Reccioto" at the Wine Exhibition in Verona.
