Casa Piattelli Vineyard + Wine Feature
The constant commitment to a continuous renewal through years of careful work allowed the company to understand its own "terroir" taking care and respecting the vineyards, commitment certainly facilitated by the climatic conditions that Abruzzo enjoys. To further strengthen the "modus operandi", a choice was made linked to the philosophy of life of the components of the company aimed at hand harvesting the grapes.
Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo is a rosé made from white vinification in white with Montepulciano grapes with temperature control. There is a present note of fruit of wood and cherry in the mouth that is good and very balanced. The wine is best served with vegetables and plates based on fish.
Montepulciano D'Abruzzo is a red wine with purple hues from the red vinification with soft pressing of the grapes and prolonged maceration in vats from medium textures with stones in the soil. There is an intense aroma with notes of ripe fruit and cherry. The taste is structured, deep, soft tannins well balanced and persistent. The wine is easy to drink, best served accompanied by meats and cold cuts, pasta with meat sauce, and roasts.
Pecorino is a white wine from medium tending to sandy soil. The winemaking process consists of soft pressing of the grapes and then fermentation of the clear must in small steel tanks at low temperature. The wine is a crystal clear, pale yellow color with greenish texture. The smell is intense with very delicate fruity scents of yellow plum and medlar, citrus notes, closed with slight hints that plant give complexity and finesse on the nose. At the taste, it is a dry wine, fresh and with a right amount of flavor which is never excessive. The wine is best served as an aperitif or first course accompanied by fish or vegetables.
